Compact Dry EC | E. Coli and Coliform

Compact Dry EC plates provide simultaneous enumeration of generic Escherichia coli and total coliforms in food and related samples. Each pre-sterilized plate contains chromogenic substrates and selective agents that differentiate colony color: coliforms appear red to pink, while E. coli appear blue to blue-purple.

Use Compact Dry EC to support routine hygiene monitoring, raw material checks, in-process verification, and finished product testing where E. coli and total coliform results are needed without traditional agar preparation.

Incubation parameters

Tip – pH check: For acidic/alkaline products, adjust a 1:10 dilution to pH 6–7 (with 0.1–1 N NaOH or HCl) to ensure optimal enzyme expression and colony color development.
